impressive range and variety of cultures, languages and customs in
China. Our hope is to stimulate others to value and preserve these
cultures for future generations. |

cultural richness with the rest of the world. For those who are
interested in these ethnic groups but lack the opportunity to visit
them in person, Minorities of China provides a way
to experience these
cultures. Through showcasing the cultures, languages and customs of
these ethnic nationalities, we hope that Minorities of China
will also
find new markets for some of their products and bring these people some
economic benefit. |

| We launched Minorities

China in December 2007 to share the personal face of the
ethnic peoples
of China with the wider English-speaking world. Our contributors share
their experiences and insights of these diverse cultures, languages and
customs. Folk tales, photos, audio and video clips also bring these
cultures to life. |

The contributors to Minorities
of China are individuals who have
direct contact with the
minority peoples of China. They meet them primarily through cultural,
linguistic and community development activities. They have met the
people, experienced the cultures, been captivated, and want to share
