Yi Embroidery - 'Shirt' magnets

The women of the Yi ethnic minority are well known for the colorful hand-embroidered borders and motifs on their traditional costumes. These embroidery skills have been handed down through many generations. Today, Yi women use these traditional skills to decorate a wide range of items to enable more people to enjoy their fine workmanship. These items are obtained through an income generation project in Yunnan Province, China. All items are hand-embroidered on cotton fabric.

Photos are for illustration only. As with all hand-made items, designs may vary.
