How well do you hear new sounds? If you struggle to hear the difference between these two words, you’re not alone. If you were trying to ask about someone’s health (literally: how is your body?), and you struggled to pronounce these two sounds, you might accidentally say, “How is your nose?”

Listen to sound clips A and B and try to differentiate between them. Each word is repeated three times. The word that means nose has a high falling tone and the vowel is short and quick. The word that means body has a similar high falling tone with a more prolonged, slow vowel.
