If you traveled along the Liáng Shān (凉山) in Sichuan Province, in the Nuosu Yi villages you would hear people playing mouth harps. Mouth harps are made of bamboo or copper. The bamboo ones are usually between ten and fifteen centimeters long. The huop huo has several leaves. The cut out area in the middle is plucked and the vibrations produce the sound.
