4. After that, the older brother said, "Younger
brother, since I now own all the 3 buffalo and you have none, getting
the farmland wouldn't be of any use to you, would it?"
The younger
brother replied "Older brother, since I don't have any buffalo, what
would I do with the farmland? You might as well have the farmland too."
And so all the buffalo and farmland were taken by the older brother.

5. "As for this house, since I will be looking
after the buffalo and farming the land myself, perhaps you should find
somewhere else to live."

| 6. In this way, the younger brother did not get
anything at all and had to go up to the mountains to live. Every day,
he wandered in the mountains, eating whatever he could find when he was
hungry. For several years, he ate only wild plants and tree bark, and
not one grain of rice went into his stomach. The older brother could
not care less about him, but lived and ate well by himself.
